I spent 5 days on Tioman Island in Malaysia getting certified for PADI’s Open Water Diver program. PADI, Professional Association of Diving Instructors, is the largest internationally recognized diving association. The Open Water Diver course is the entry level course for anyone who wants to learn how to scuba dive.
Several people have asked me questions regarding planning for their own Japan trip, so here is a post describing my itinerary and some tips I have for Japan travellers. I travelled in Japan for 8 full days plus one day at each end for travel. I think our itinerary worked out really well for a first-timer in Japan! Feel free to ask me any other questions if you want more details.
Next week, I will be flying off to Singapore to study abroad at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). I will be going for one semester, from January to May 2015. The steps of getting approved for this exchange program was a tedious one, so I wrote down a list of what I had to do to get this, and some of the caveats I had to face along the way. (more...)
